A.K.C. COMPETITION - DID SOMEONE SAY "DOG SHOW?"
I enjoy all things dog show! But more importantly, I enjoy the the journey of getting to the show ... THE TIME SPENT TRAINING! Let me help you explore your dog's potential! All of the following are done as private lessons and may be done in half hour blocks:
CONFORMATION (Breed Ring) - This is what you see when you watch Westminster. To the untrained eye it looks easy enough ... but a lot of work has gone into creating that picture of perfection from breeding, to rearing, to training ... Let me help you train your dog for the professional handler (they love getting my nicely trained dogs); learn to understand how conformation works; how to read a program, learn to count points, etc.
A.K.C. RALLY - In addition to shows, Rally may be done virtually for four titles. I can provide the training so your dog can do a right finish, a left finish, and everything else Rally! It's a lot of fun and what I have always called the "gateway addiction" to performance. (See Rally Tab)
A.K.C. OBEDIENCE - The foundation to all performance sports and my favorite stand alone sport. Training a dog to heel, retrieve, jump, respond to hand signals or voice commands, and to be my teammate is time well spent. Outside of shows, I have utilized obedience work in therapy work, school performances, and dog exhibitions throughout the years. I have gotten many a local Ruidoso Individual started in this sport as well.
